Marigold Dyed Bandana

This is the time of the year when Marigolds are showing their bright orange colors. Picking the flower heads encourages growth and gives you petals to use for fabric dyeing.

After mordanting a cotton bandana lay marigold petals on one half.

Fold the bandana in half and smooth it out.

Fold and Roll

Wrap the bandana with twine and steam for 1 hour.

Unroll to reveal a unique print and color.

Wet

Wash on cold, dry, iron…..Now it’s ready to use.
